Receipts your bank can’t see.The receipt app for UK landlords and the self-employed.

Cash, personal cards, the second bank account. Snap a receipt and Tillslip files it under the right Self Assessment heading, keeps your tax-year and quarterly totals, and hands your accountant a tidy pack.

Receipts are read on your phone and never sent to us. No account to set up.

The Year screen: £1,249.02 kept this tax year, the Self Assessment deadline, and the latest receipts with their categories.
£26

is roughly what a forgotten £100 receipt costs a basic-rate sole trader: 20% income tax and 6% Class 4 National Insurance. GOV.UK

Your bank only sees your bank

Free bank tools miss the cash, the personal card, the second account and the flat you run through your current account.

Making Tax Digital is coming

From April 2027, if your self-employed and property income is over £30,000 a year, you’ll keep digital records and update HMRC every quarter. GOV.UK

About ten seconds a receipt

  1. Snap

    Point the camera

Shop, date, total and VAT are read on your phone in a second or two. Paper receipts, emailed PDFs, a whole pile at once.

  2. File

    The right tax heading

It suggests the Self Assessment category in plain English, for your work or for a property, and flags anything it isn’t sure of.

  3. Total

    Year and quarter

Running totals for the tax year and each quarter, with mileage at HMRC rates and a reminder before each deadline.

  4. Hand over

    Export in one go

A PDF pack for your accountant, or a CSV for FreeAgent, Xero, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet.

What it looks like

Reviewing a receipt: the photo above the merchant, date, total, VAT and category the app read.
Check what it read against the photo, then file it.
The Receipts list: each receipt with its date, merchant, category and amount, and one marked to check.
Every receipt, filed. Anything unsure is marked to check.
The Export screen: the accountant pack and CSV formats.
A pack for your accountant, or a CSV for their software.

A pack your accountant will thank you for

Totals by tax-form box, for your work and for each property, then the mileage log and every receipt photo behind them. Plus a spreadsheet of every line. Less of their time spent sorting, less on your bill.

Private by design

Receipts are read on your phone, not on our servers: the app has none. If you turn on backup, copies go only to your own Google Drive. No account, no password.

Your records stay yours

HMRC asks you to keep records for at least five years. Even if you stop paying, you can always open, search and export everything you’ve filed.

Questions

Does it file my tax return or Making Tax Digital updates?

No. Tillslip keeps your records and totals ready. Your accountant, or the software they or you use, sends them to HMRC. Tillslip isn’t made by or affiliated with HMRC.

Do I still need Xero or FreeAgent?

Not to use Tillslip. If you already use one with bank feeds, its own receipt capture may be enough; Tillslip is built for everyone else, and exports to them if your accountant uses one.

When can I get it?

Android first, in early 2027. iPhone after that. People on the list hear first.

What will it cost?

It’s a yearly subscription, with a founding price for early users. The list hears the price first. Viewing and exporting what you’ve filed stay free.

Where is my data?

On your phone. If you turn on backup, copies go to your own Google Drive. We never see your receipts.
